One of the best parts of family travel is the connections that our guests routinely make. Making friends with other like-minded families that are as excited about travel and experiencing new cultures as your family is one of the biggest advantages to joining a group adventure. Often, these friendships go well beyond the confines of one trip. They often spur future trips together, cross-country visits, and staying in touch. But sometimes these bonds become even more special.
Here is a story from Courtney, who traveled on a recent safari with her grandmother Charlene and became great friends with Allison during their adventure. Courtney and Charlene were invited to Allison’s family only wedding:
In May 2016 we traveled to Tanzania for the safari of a lifetime. We knew we would come back with a million memories, but we didn’t know we would come home with a second family. Instantly upon meeting our fellow travelers at the Amsterdam airport, we connected and became inseparable. Our connection only grew during our time traveling through Tanzania. We saw incredible animals, played Jenga, bonded with our guides, learned a new language, and experienced nature.
Upon returning home we all stayed connected and our bond continued to grow. When the invitation for Allison’s wedding came, we instantly booked our flights and couldn’t wait to celebrate! Though, we hadn’t seen each other in over a year, it seemed like nothing changed. The bond we made on our safari was something that forever will keep us close. We are lucky to be able to share the most important events in our lives with one another and we look forward to the future and to continue to share these events.
These are the stories that make one family vacation turn into an adventure that lasts a lifetime! Congratulations to Allison and good luck with all of your future adventures!
