    This Costa Rica family vacation is designed for fun-loving families of all ages seeking out the treasures of friendly, laid-back, tropical Costa Rica. Walk through treetops across hanging bridges, glide from platform to platform on an exhilarating canopy tour, go on a sea kayaking expedition, and paddle out to quiet coves for swimming, sun bathing, and surfing.

    Hike to La Paz Waterfall Gardens

    Hike through a lush stretch of jungle to a gorgeous waterfall, keeping an eye-out for wildlife along the way.

    Journey Through the Jungle Canopy

    Explore high in the air where the treetops meet the sky to walk along hanging sky bridges and strap into a zip-line, flying from platform to platform to get yourself back on the ground.

    Lazy River Floating

    Experience the jungles of Costa Rica in the most relaxing fashion, with a leisurely float down multiple rivers passing by monkeys, iguanas, and beautiful birds.

    Friends Across Borders

    Your child can get to know and exchange pen pal letters with a Costa Rican child who they’ll be able to meet during a local school visit.

    Kayak in the Pacific Ocean

    Take multiple opportunities to kayak through marine life rich waters, down the gorgeous coast of Guanacaste, and to calm coves for swimming.

    San Jose

    La Paz Waterfall Gardens

    Take a trip to La Paz Waterfall Gardens, featuring some of the best hiking opportunities near San José and the country’s most famous waterfalls, as well as an abundance of wildlife.

    Days 2-3


    Sky Walk Hanging Bridges

    Explore the rainforest from the Sky Walk Hanging Bridges, allowing a unique perspective of the canopy’s flora and fauna during this expedition up in the sky!

    Sky Tram

    Ride through the verdant rainforest in the Sky Tram gondolas, soaking in the breathtaking views on the way to even more spectacular ones from the observation deck.

    Eco Termales Hot Springs

    Take a break and unwind from a long day of traveling, at Eco Termales Hot Springs, Arenal’s only truly natural hot springs.

    Days 4-6


    River Float Trip

    Enjoy a peaceful float trip to spot plentiful wildlife, from tiny hummingbirds to giant, pink-hued Roseate Spoonbills. Be sure to also watch for howler monkeys, iguanas, sloths, and crocodiles!

    Sea Kayaking

    Enjoy one of the region’s many watersports, sea kayaking, paddling to quiet coves to swim and beach comb along the stunning seashore.

    Friends Across Borders Meeting

    Thomson families love this program! Children traveling with us can choose to exchange letters with a local child of similar age before leaving on their adventure. While on the trip we organize a pen pal meeting with a scheduled activity like soccer or hacky sacking. It’s amazing how such interaction can be a real eye-opener for everyone involved.

    Hilton Garden Inn

    The Hilton Garden Inn is a great place to stay while in San José. The hotel is clean and the rooms are spacious, giving your family a great space to relax. There is also a pool, a fitness room, and free Wi-Fi and internet access throughout the hotel. The lobby features a 24 hour snack service and it is centrally located to nearby restaurants, markets and a drugstore.

    Arenal Springs

    Hotel Arenal Springs is ideally located just five miles from La Fortuna, in between the town and Lake Arenal. As the name indicates, the hotel’s proximity to the Arenal Volcano allows for its two natural hot springs, one for adults and one for children – it is only 20 minutes from Arenal Volcano National Park. There are 87 junior suites on the property, each with direct views of the active side of Arenal Volcano.

    Casa Conde Beach Front Hotel

    Casa Conde Beach Front Hotel is located on a beautiful beach of Playa Panama with 22 acres of lush tropical forest, in Papagayo and is 30 minutes away from the Liberia International Airport, Guanacaste. This family friendly resort also offers 2 outdoor swimming pools one and a children’s pool as well as a restaurant, snack bar, 4 bars/lounges.  Casa Conde features 50 modern rooms with access to Wi-Fi, telephone, coffee maker, mini bar, safe, radio alarm clock and hair dryer.
