Costa Rica Toddler Adventure
-
Overview
You are never too young to start exploring! This itinerary has been specially crafted for families with toddlers. Costa Rica is a great country for families to bring their young adventurers. It’s easy going, and full of excitement, and has amazing wildlife and friendly and happy people. There is no place quite like it, and it’s the perfect family vacation destination to introduce toddlers to international travel. During this adventure you will get to know the local culture, eat delicious food, play at the beach and, most importantly, relax. It’s an adventure that you’ll cherish forever!
Visit the Diamente Animal Sanctuary
Diamente rescues animals from all over the country. It is home to the largest variety of species in the area. We’ll see monkeys, sloths, jaguars, pumas, toucans, snakes and more. Seeing the animals up close is always exciting. The sanctuary also has a park area where we’ll be able to take a light hike. This is a great way to introduce toddlers to jungle environments and wildlife.
Friends Across Borders at a Local Library
We’ll visit the public library in the nearby town of El Coco. They have a storytelling hour for the local children that we’ll get to enjoy. This is a great chance for your kids to meet and play with Costa Rican kids the same age as them. The storytelling hour is bi-lingual and the library also has arts and crafts for us!
Learn How to Make Tortillas
Grab an apron and have fun with a hands-on cooking lesson. Learn to prepare one of Costa Rica’s traditional foods and then enjoy the delicious results!
Enjoy a Day at Leisure
There are babysitting services available if you’d like to have a “grown ups” day! You can go to the spa for a massage and pampering, take out a sea kayak or go zip-lining. You can also just relax at the hotel.
Private Boat Tour
We’ll board a private boat that will take us to different white and dark sand beaches around Guanacaste. We’ll also find some of the best spots for swimming and snorkeling in the crystal clear blue waters. Discovering Costa Rica’s underwater tropical world is mesmerizing and something you will always remember. The best part is that everyone can swim and explore at whatever level is comfortable for them!
Please note: Children’s car seats in Costa Rica are not obligated to follow U.S. regulations. We highly recommend bringing your personal car seats.
