    Explore Glaciers by Snowmobile

    Don overalls and helmet for an exhilarating scoot across the ice sheet. The glacier is so vast you’ll feel yourself but a tiny speck on the snow!

    Waterfall Hike

    Hike along a beautiful green trail to the magnificent two tiered Gullfoss Waterfall. Fed by melting glacier ice the golden brown falls are often adorned with rainbows — it’s a magical experience, just one of several waterfalls you’ll explore.

    Cook With the Locals

    At a local farm cook with milk, flour and new friends to learn how to make delicious Icelandic pancakes – then eat as many as you want!

    Friends Across Borders Soccer Game

    On our Friend’s Across Borders meet-up enjoy a rousing game of soccer with the local kids – it’s a fun competition around the universal language of sports.

    Saddle up! Icelandic Horseback Ride

    Take an unforgettable ride on a gentle Icelandic horse along a trail through beautiful landscapes. These strong ponies are fast and smooth gaited, and a thrill to ride!

    Strap on Your Crampons

    Hike across the glacier’s snow-pack for an up-close look at the world of ice and its many colors. 11% of Iceland’s land mass is covered by these deep and dramatic rivers of ice.

    The Blue Lagoon

    Head right off to one of the great wonders of the world, the geothermal sea waters in the iconic Blue Lagoon. Rich with minerals it is thought to work wonders for your skin and is sure to help you shed your weariness. Surrounded by a stark volcanic landscape, dip yourselves into the warm blue water and enjoy!

    Stretch Your Legs in the Village of Álftanes

    You’ll make a stop to dip your toes into the Atlantic and catch a glimpse of the President’s official residence.

    South Coast

    The Power of an Earthquake

    Visit the exhibits in the town of Hveragerði, the epicenter of a 6.3 quake in 2008. Learn how this quake affected the region, and step inside a simulator to experience what it felt like.

    See the Famous Geysir

    Walk through a field of mud pots and fumaroles to witness the rare natural phenomenon of a geyser. Strokkur explodes every six to 10 minutes and shoots as high as 100 ft.

    Gullfoss Waterfall Hike

    Also known as the Golden Waterfall these powerful waters drape in two tiers to fall 32 feet into a gorge to feed the Hvítá River.

    Snowmobile on a Glacier

    Suit up with overalls and helmets for an exhilarating scoot along the vast and snowy ice.

    Secret Lagoon

    Soak in Iceland’s oldest pool surrounded by the magic of nature.

    Seljalandsfoss Waterfall Hike

    Walk full circle around these falls for a mesmerizing – and damp – look at the tumbling water from the Seljalandsá river.

    Ice Walking on Sólheimajökull Glacier

    An experienced glacier guide will lead you on an easy walk through the frozen wonderland with many different shades of glacier ice.

    Look for Puffins on Reynisfjara Beach

    Walk a stunning black sand beach where towering basalt columns stand in the sea.

    Friends Across Borders: Soccer and Swim!

    After a rousing soccer game with a local club take a water slide into a warm pool for a refreshing splash.

    Days 6-7

    West Iceland

    Þingvellir National Park

    Head to the Mid Atlantic Ridge where the continents of Europe and America drift apart by 2 cm each year. Visit historic sites such as the ‘drowning pool’ and ‘law speakers hill’ to learn about the oldest parliament in the world.

    Learn to Make Icelandic Food!

    On a working farm with sheep, pigs and hens learn to make a thin Icelandic pancake called pönnukökur.

    Walk Through a Lava Cave

    Don helmets and enter the underground world of Iceland’s longest lava cave.

    Harbor Islands Boat Trip: With Fresh Sushi!

    With breathtaking views of the fairy-like scenery of Breiðafjörður fjord, you’ll pull shellfish from the sea for the freshest taste of nature. Watch for puffins, white-tailed eagles, and more as your boat journeys to offshore rocky islets.

    Climb Akranes Lighthouse

    Visit a beautiful lighthouse — Iceland has 104 — for photographic opportunities. Climb to the top and enjoy the echo sound from up high.

    Icelandic Horseback Ride

    The gentle, strong Icelandic horse comes in more than 40 color and pattern variations and boasts five gaits, including the incredibly smooth “Tolt” step. Take an unforgettable trail ride on one of these endearing ponies through beautiful landscape.

    Hotel Selfoss is located on the banks of the river Ölfusá. Amenities include free Wi-Fi, satellite TV and hair dryers. The hotel has a restaurant and full service spa.

    Icelandair Hotel Hamar

    Hotel Hamar is located in Borgames in west Iceland, a short distance from Reykjavik. Amenities include free Wi-Fi, a TV, telephone, hair dryer and coffee and tea set. The hotel has its own 18 hole golf course and restaurant.
