No family vacation to Italy would be complete without a visit to Rome, home to the Vatican, the Forum, the Colosseum and countless ruins of an empire that once ruled the world. You have the opportunity to walk around the city and get up close to its renowned historical monuments.
Discover Rome by Foot
Take a walk through the famous and monument-packed streets of Rome. We’ll be walking past the renowned sights we’ve only read about, until now! We’ll stroll through the Piazza di Spagna and climb the Spanish Steps. All of these sites are as historic as they are beautiful.
Toss a Coin into the Trevi Fountain
Gather your family, stand with your backs to the fountain, hold a coin in your right hand, close your eyes, make a wish, and toss the coin over your right shoulder into the fountain— now all of your wishes will come true! This is a fun part of the lore for families to do together at the famed Trevi Fountain. Not only does it grant wishes, but is also an amazing example of baroque art.
Cycle Around the Ancient City
We’ll be able to see Rome in a unique way- on a bicycle! This is a fun way to cruise around the park along the Appian Way. This road was built in the year 312 B.C. and was one of the most important roads of the Ancient Republic. As we ride along, we’ll see Roman tombs, temples, and monuments dating back to the 2nd century.
Explore the Colosseum
Explore the Flavian Amphitheater, more commonly known as the Colosseum. This massive, circular structure seated 75,000 people and once hosted the riveting gladiatorial contests that pitted man against man in tests of might.
