The small town of Zermatt has been closed to cars since 1961, making a truly fresh place to peruse shops and take quiet countryside strolls.
Ride the Gornergrat Bahn
The Gornergrat Bahn is the highest altitude rack railway in all of Europe, offering incredible views of the surrounding mountain landscape.
Go Tubing on the Matterhorn
No matter what time of year it is, you can go snow tubing on the slopes of the mighty Matterhorn.
Venture Through Interlaken
Ride a gondola to the top of the Niederhorn, hike through fields of wildflowers, and ride an electric Swiss trotti-bike down a mountain side.
Conquer a Ropes Course in Lucerne
Get a high flying and active experience climbing across ropes and obstacles at the base of legendary Mt. Pilatus.
Fly to Switzerland
Ride the Gornergrat Bahn
We’ll go for a ride on the the Gornergrat Bahn, Europe’s highest-altitude rack railway without a tunnel, to the summit of Gornergrat. During the ride we’ll stop for breathtaking views of the 10 glaciers and 29 mountains out in the distance.
Ride Aerial Cableway
We’ll take to the Swiss Alps, exploring them with a ride on Europe’s highest aerial cableway and summit station to Klein Matterhorn, stopping at 12,740 feet.
Visit Matterhorn Glacier Paradise
Go snow tubing and build a snowman—in the summer!—at Matterhorn Glacier Paradise. Then travel 50-feet below the glacier to visit a glacial palace where everything is carved from ice, including an ice slide and ice benches to relax on.
Take a Cable Car to Furi
Ride in a cable car out to Furi, once a farming community that’s now filled with playgrounds, hotels, restaurants, and a 300-foot-high suspension footbridge overlooking Gorner Gorge.
Hike Back to Zermatt
On a short hike from Furi to Zermatt, our leisurely walk offers views of the Matterhorn, Breithorn, and Adlerhorn peaks, as well as stunning looks at Zermatt.
Visit Gorner Gorge
Take a quick walk from Zermatt to Gorner Gorge, where we’ll cross wooden walkways that overlook cliffs carved out by the powerful Gornervispe glacial river.
Swiss Chocolate Experience
We’ll have a“Swiss Chocolate Experience, learning what makes Swiss chocolate so exceptional, watching local chocolatiers work their craft and tasting some chocolatey goodness!
Friends Across Borders Activity
Take part in the friends across borders activity, where kids will get to meet their Swiss pen pals. Both kids and adults will get a chance to bond during a fun-filled cooking class, making rosti and a chocolate dessert.
Gondola Ride to the Summit of Niederhorn
Drive to the nearby town of Beatenberg, to ride the gondola to the summit of the Niederhorn to take in glorious views of the iconic peaks Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.
Ride a Trotti-bike
We’ll take a ride down from Niederhorn Mountain via trotti-bike, a scooter-like bike without a seat. We’ll find great views to stop and take pictures and enjoy fresh mountain air.
Hike to Vorsass
Hike on a popular trail with views of Lake Thun and the big 3 mountains of the Swiss Alps – Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau. Sightings may include eagles, bearded vultures, mountain goats, and ibex.
Visit Ballenberg, an open-air museum, that features 100 original buildings brought from all over Switzerland to this picturesque valley.
Lucerne Walking Tour
We’ll have an exploratory walk through lovely, lakeside Lucerne. Wander down the warren of narrow lanes through the Altstadt, the Old Town, to sun-splashed squares bordered with brightly painted houses and decorated with beautiful murals.
Boat Ride on Lake Lucerne
Take boat ride on scenic Lake Lucerne to Alpnachstad, a rail station located at the base of the legendary Mount Pilatus. We’ll enjoy the breeze off the lake and the scenery as we cruise across the lake.
Ride Cogwheel Train to Mount Pilatus
Ride the world’s steepest cogwheel railway, winding up through lush meadows carpeted with alpine flowers, past stunning mountain streams and impossibly steep rock faces, to the top of Mount Pilatus.
Explore a Rope Park
Experience an on-mountain adventure with a cable-car ride to Frakmuntegg, home to the sprawling Pilatus Rope Park. Kids and adults can turn into acrobats, climbing rope ladders and cables, and crossing aerial log bridges on any of the seven suspension-rope trails, each offering varying levels of challenges.
