Go on a canyoneering adventure in the epic valleys of Ponderosa. Roam the Coral Pink Sand Dunes via sled and vehicle. Ride horseback and stargaze among grottoes, mesas and starry night skies.

We’ll arrange your lodging and meals while your expert guide helps you explore the looming cliffs and Western-style towns with ease. It’s here you can visit the West you’ve always dreamed of. Let’s go!

    Hike Zion’s Narrows

Hiking is the name of the game in Zion. You’ll see for yourself when you traverse the winding Virgin River, past waterfalls and delving into the Narrows slot canyon, ranked one of America’s best adventures by National Geographic. The colossal walls and river floor make it one of the most unforgettable hiking experiences in the United States.

    Discovery Zion with Expert Guides

Consider your travel guide to be your personal park expert – they’ll let you in on the secrets of Zion’s rocky amphitheaters, hoodoo spires, flora, fauna and more. They’ll help you spot mule deer, wild turkeys and other wildlife, then teach you about the Milky Way when you go stargazing.

    Canyoneer in Valleys and Gorges

Join up with professional guides for canyoneering adventures in Zion and Ponderosa! This canyoneering trip is a safe activity designed for beginners and experts alike, offering an up-close, intimate way of exploring the world. From the time you step out above the gorge to the time you reach the canyon floor, it’s an awe-inspiring thrill.

Hike the Emerald Pools and Navajo Loop

Choose your trail through the scenic Zion canyonlands to the Emerald Pools. Then, traverse the Navajo Loop’s clustered hoodoo spires made of pink, orange and brown limestone. Later, set out to hike Canyon Overlook Trail for a gorgeous sunrise as it descends on Pine Creek Canyon. Nowhere is Zion’s drama of rock, rivers and light more breathtaking than it is here.

Roam the Coral Pink Sand Dunes

Venture to the shifting seas of Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park for an unforgettable vehicular adventure. Hop aboard a personal ATV or UTV and roam the 2,000 acres of shifting sands and sparkling dunes. You’ll have plenty of time to sandboard and sled down the tallest dunes as well!

    Days 1-6

    Ponderosa

Sunrise Hike on Canyon Overlook Trail

Head out to Zion’s Canyon Overlook Trail for a short and easy morning hike. The manufactured trail is mostly level and provides a gorgeous route through the area’s sandstone formations. The sun is at your back throughout the morning, and the canyon fills with light and shadow, offering dramatic vistas of Pine Creek Canyon below. The trail ends with one of the most dramatic and unforgettable views of the main canyon that Zion can offer.

Roam the Coral Pink Sand Dunes

Venture to the shifting seas of colorful sand at Coral Pink Sand Dunes, the only major dune field on the Colorado Plateau. Over 2,000 acres of these sprawling sands are open to vehicular adventure! Choose either an ATV (all-terrain vehicle) or UTV (side-by-side, utility-style vehicle) and ride through the dunes. You’ll have plenty of time to sandboard and sled down the tallest dunes as well.

Scenic Ride and Leisure Time in Kanab

Head into Kanab, a small town surrounded by towering cliffs of Navajo sandstone and vistas of sagebrush. This gem of the American West has lured filmmakers since the 1930s – in fact, so many movie posters and abandoned film sets adorn the town that it has earned the title, “Little Hollywood.” Take some time to explore the area’s diverse restaurants, shops and sights at your leisure.

    Campfire and S'mores

Kick back and unwind under the night sky for a campfire and snacks! Very little light pollution reaches this area of the West, making it an ideal time for some stargazing and constellation-naming.

Hike the Virgin River and Narrows

Head to the Temple of Sinawava trail, where you’ll hike the one-mile paved path to the entrance of the Narrows, the monumental canyon through which the Virgin River runs. Weather permitting, put on your water shoes and hike through the river into this gorgeous gorge. The fun comes from the challenge of wading, walking and sometimes swimming upstream across the often-rocky riverbed. Close-toed shoes and a walking stick are strongly recommended!

    Hike to the Emerald Pools

Hike your choice of trails to the glistening Emerald Pools! Several trails are available. The 1.2-mile trail to the lower pools is easy, the two-mile trail to the middle pools is more difficult and the three-mile trail to the upper pools is strenuous. All trails offer scenic views of Lady Mountain, the Great White Throne, Red Arch Mountain and the surrounding cliffs.

Jeep Ride to a Zion Sunset

Venture to the high knolls of Zion for spectacular open views into the park, the pink cliffs of the Virgin River Rim and the Kaibab Plateau. The sunset here is a grand visual experience. Be ready to spot mule deer, wild turkeys and more skittering along the path on your way to the viewing location!

Hike the Hoodoos of the Navajo Loops

Hike the 1.3-mile Navajo Loop from Sunset Point, through the narrow corridors of Wall Street and back. You’ll pass through the Silent City, a metropolis of hoodoos crowded like an urban sprawl and made of pink, orange and brown limestone. This hike will test your mettle, requiring you to descend 800 feet down the side of Bryce Canyon’s rim, then climb back up at the end of the hike.

    Visit Springdale

The small town of Springdale is set in the Zion Canyon, flanked by rocky red cliffs to the east and west. Take some time at your leisure to explore the main drag, featuring galleries, diners and souvenir shops.

Ride Horseback in the Ponderosa Wilderness

Time to saddle up! No other activity fulfills the dream of the West like a horseback ride. Slow down and smell the sagebrush with your expert naturalist guide as you mosey out for a relaxed, easy trot through the Ponderosa wilderness.

    Canyoneering in Zion

Join up with your professional guides to go canyoneering in Zion! This activity is designed for beginners and experts alike, and your guides are trained to assist you and ensure your safety. Starting high up in the canyon, feed out the ropes and descend step-by-step along the steep red sandstone walls to the landing below. From the time you step out to the time you reach the canyon floor, it’s a heart-pumping thrill of an adventure!

    Astronomy Excursion

Far from light pollution and civilization, Zion is a haven for star-lovers and your family’s young astronomers. The Milky Way extends across the horizon like a silver rainbow, and the planets and stars dot the sky. During the tour, you’ll learn about the cycles of stars, space missions, stories behind the constellations and more!

    Farewell Dinner

Hike your choice of trails to the glistening Emerald Pools! Several trails are available. The 1.2-mile trail to the lower pools is easy, the two-mile trail to the middle pools is more difficult and the three-mile trail to the upper pools is strenuous. All trails offer scenic views of Lady Mountain, the Great White Throne, Red Arch Mountain and the surrounding cliffs.
