Judi Wineland & Rick Thomson

Meet the Owners: Judi Wineland and Rick Thomson with their daughters Erica and Nicole.

Hailing from the U.S. and New Zealand, Judi and Rick have been offering travel to remote and exotic destination for over 35 years.  For them traveling with family is just  part of their DNA.

Nicole and Erica have joined the company and the Wineland-Thomsons continue to pride themselves on opening the hearts of their guests through travel.  But they are also passionate about the three dachshunds that accompany them to work each day: Benson, Conrad, and Nigel.

Jim Kackley

Founder

From the Galapagos Islands to the Azores of Portugal to Turkey, he’s brought his family with him all over the world and wouldn’t have it any other way. He played rugby while living in Tanzania and has a great Turkish soup recipe.

Beth O’Donnell

General Manager

With 31 countries under her belt, Beth has a set a goal to visit at least one new place every year. To her, March is best time of year to travel, math is fun, and admittedly remembers too much random information.

Moo Bishop

Manager of Sales and Alumni Relations

Has been to 30 countries and always tries to take her favorite travel companions, her kids, with her on adventures. Won’t eat breakfast food but will eat all of the soggy salad and sushi she can find. She was once the only person on flight from Florida to Boston. She’s also a Certified Zentangle Teacher (Google it).

Christine Bowe

Family Travel Advisor - Sales

Thinks every family should visit South Africa, because, well, it’s awesome. Always travels with her fitbit (have to get those steps in) and wants to visit an aquarium in every state. When she’s not traveling, she’s watching reality TV with her black labs Brodie and Pierce.

Mikaela DiIorio

Family Travel Advisor - Sales

There’s no place like home and that’s why New England is her favorite place in the world. She loves finding spicy food challenges where she has to sign a waiver and gets a prize if she finishes. It’s no surprise she always travels with her own hot sauce.

Maria DiCenso

Family Travel Advisor - Service

Loves to spend her summers traveling in Central and South America and is working on visiting every country in those regions. She’s always interested in having a delicious bowl of sancocho or showing off her swing dancing moves. Always travels with a copy of Cars, her favorite film.

Lisa Aprille

Family Travel Advisor - Service

After spending a month in the jungles of Belize looking for Mayan ruins, she’s learned to never travel without her Swiss Army Knife. She would love to hike Kilimanjaro and Machu Picchu and if she can’t travel with a good friend then a good book will do.

Sam Gosselin

Marketing Analyst

Ask her and she’ll tell you the best place to travel is Asia and the best part of travel is all the delicious food. She always makes sure to pack a pair of sneakers to lace up and explore city streets and is a self-proclaimed popcorn enthusiast.

Nick Biblis

Copywriter/Marketing Analyst

Will always pack his backpack for a trip opposed to a suitcase and is more likely to eat at a street cart on the sidewalk than inside of a restaurant. Has a weird love for taking public transportation and always travels with a pair of flip-flops.

Na’ama Celine

Family Travel Advisor - Service Support

When she isn’t working on a jigsaw puzzle, rock climbing, or taking a nap, she’s exploring the world and collecting silly quotes she overhears. Her favorite time of year to travel is during the winter, preferably with her sister by her side. Her best travel advice: always have hand sanitizer.

Gregg Pokraka

Family Expeditions General Manager

He loves to travel with his family, especially to Tanzania and Guatemala, his two favorite places. He’s usually looking for an excuse to get outside in the form of a good hike or run to go on. Two more things he loves: volcanoes and his little cockapoo puppy, Papi.

Nicole Wineland-Thomson

Director of Family Expeditions

Travel runs in the family. Her love for travel may have started when she climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro at the age of twelve or explored the Galapagos Islands in her teens. Either way, she’s going to see as much of the world as she can.

Rodica Woodbury

Family Expeditions Service

Has never met a local market or ancient ruin she didn’t like, and can’t decide if Southeast Asia, Latin America, or the Mediterranean is her favorite place in the world. She has 40 countries (and counting) on the soles of her shoes and lives by the words, “A border is always a temptation.”

Melinda Sykes

Family Expeditions Service

Her favorite time to travel is whenever she can find a cheap flight. Preferably to a place that has a copious amount of delicious cheese. She’s always good for a quote from an obscure movie and has ridden a water buffalo.

Aine Cole

Family Expeditions Service

While traveling, you’ll be able to find her in a coffee shop listening to the local language or relaxing in a park sketching scenes in her notebook. Apart from traveling and drawing, she’s hoping to get a Bernese mountain dog, but until then, petting stranger’s dogs will have to do.
