• Reserving Space

    Space is limited. Call as early as possible to ensure space is available on your desired departure date (many guests book a year or more in advance).

  • Deposits

    A non-refundable deposit equal to 20% of your per person trip price will hold your place on most treks. Trip extensions also require a separate minimum deposit of 20% per person.

    Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover are accepted for your deposit.

  • Payments

    You will be invoiced upon booking; full payment is due 90 days prior to departure (120 days prior to departure for December trips). The following forms of payment are accepted:

    1. Check posted to our U.S. office (amount in U.S. Dollars).
    2. Wire transfer to our account at Cambridge Trust Company, Cambridge, MA.
  • Airfare
    • Your airfare is not included in the cost of your trip. Call us to discuss international flights.

  • Cancellation and Refunds

    Notification of cancellation must be made in writing to Thomson Family Adventures. At the time we receive the cancellation, all moneys will be refunded less the following cancellation charges, deducted from the total package price.

    For adventures that depart January-November

    • 91+ days before departure: Deposit amount per person
    • 61-90 days before departure: 50% of the package price
    • 60 days or less before departure date: 100% of the package price

    For adventures that depart in December

    • 121+ days before departure: Deposit amount per person
    • 91-120 days before departure: 50% of the package price
    • 61-90 days before departure: 65% of the package price
    • 60 days or less before departure date: 100% of the package price
  • Additional Disclosures

    No partial refunds will be given for unused meals, hotel rooms, airport transfers, etc., for any reason whatsoever.

    Thomson Family Adventures reserves the right to increase the tour price in the event of cost increases due to changes in internal airfares, currency fluctuations, park fee increases, increased fuel surcharges, taxes, etc.

    Thomson Family Adventures reserves the right to alter the tour without notice.

    Thomson Family Adventures is not responsible for expenses incurred by trip members in preparing for the trip (e.g., visa fees, immunizations, insurance, equipment, etc.) or for fees incurred by departing on any day other than the planned group departure date.

    Accommodations are subject to change.

    A surcharge may be applied to small groups.

  • Last Minute Bookings

    When joining a trip within 90 days of departure, there are additional considerations. Please call as soon as possible for the best chance of securing desired departure dates.

    • All entrance fees for sites indicated in the itinerary
    • All excursions as listed in the itinerary
    • Services of a bilingual guide who will accompany you throughout the trip
    • Accommodations based on double and triple occupancy at comfortable and distinctive tourist level hotels
  • Not Included
    • Fees for passports, visas and immunizations
    • Meals and expenses en route to your destination
    • Laundry, phone/fax/email, and other items of a personal
      nature
    • Additional activities not listed on the itinerary
    • Departure taxes (if applicable)
    • Soda, beer, wine and spirits (where we include dinner, you will need to pay the bar tab)
    • Tips for guide, driver and rafiki (if applicable)
    • International or domestic flights
    • Travel Insurance
